Jadewell Parking lot skaters, Baguio City.
I know a few of them..by accident. I was always facinated with skaters and skateboards in general, when I was growing up my parents didn’t want me near anything that had wheels on it (skates, skateboards, skooters), they thought I’d eventually break a bone or crack my skull in the pavement..or something. Anyway, as a kid I was deprived of adventure and adrenaline..which is why when I ride a bike, I usually fall a hundred times before getting it right.
Anyhoo—Baguio Skaters are really friendly and accommodating, whenever I feel like shooting them they always make it a point to make feel welcomed on their turf.
”Hi ate! lapit ka pa para makuhanan mo kami”
”Ate, dito sa angle na to mas maganda”
”Ate is pa nga!”
”’Ate shot ka muna”—then they offer me 7up.aww. :)
Despite all this, they skate ”underground” minding the watchful eye of the evil ‘sekyu’—security guard.
More power to the baguio skaters!
